Congratulations to our Tinies coach, Crystal Seymour, who this evening received a Lalor Hero volunteer award for her tireless efforts for our club.
The Lalor Heroes awards were started by Joanne Ryan MP in 2014 to honour volunteers who are “the backbone of our diverse and vibrant community”. Awards are presented in three categories – school, sport, and community organisations.
Crystal was an assistant coach at our club for several years, before gaining level 1 accreditation in 2017 and taking on the Tinies. In 2019 alone, Crystal coached or assistant coached four of our sections. Stepping up into any role that needed to be filled, she spent more weeknights at calisthenics than at home, plus many weekends working on costumes, at extra classes and at competitions for her four sections (plus competing in Masters!)
Crystal’s dedication and hard work sets an excellent example for our pupils of the values and skills we aim to teach at calisthenics, such as commitment, leadership, and showing up for your team. We are so excited and proud that Crystal has been recognised at the community level for all she does for us!
